Ready For Spring With The Best Of The Sales: Marni, Jil Sander and Hussein Chalayan
After the opulence we’ve seen at the fall collections, apparently the fashion industry decided to look at spring from a totally different angle, rather than opting for a transition.
This spring we’re going to see contrast, ruffles, power player suits and transparency measures. These themes have become the antidote of what we’ve witnessed in the Fall/Winter Collection.
And what other way to prepare for this dramatic change than with a big sale where we can also find these themes?
This is exactly why I’m going to show you the best of the sales so far that perfectly match these new trends.
You’re going to see that the power suit comes also with transparent patterns, that ruffles come in many shapes and sizes and that the art of contrast was invented way before the Marc Jacobs and Spring/ Summer Collection.
1. HUSSEIN CHALAYAN
Let’s begin our pursuit with the HUSSEIN CHALAYAN Peach Split Back Blazer, a blazer that is actually more of a soft pink rather than peach, but nevertheless still a beautiful piece of clothing. Hussein Chalayan made of work of art mixing geometrical cuts with this color, adding up a material that seemed somehow the obvious choice. It’s a single breasted blazer with a notched lapel collar and with two button closure and vertical darts at front. Don’t be fooled by the front pockets at waist, they just complete the look; you’re not supposed to use them. You’ll also see a vertical split at the back with single concealed button closure. As I’ve mentioned above the HUSSEIN CHALAYAN Peach Split Back Blazer comes with a huge discount and you’ll find it available for 70% off, for $345.00 USD.
Our next choice is the MARNI Burgundy Geometric Print ruffled Dress where the contrast between black and white AND red is easily seen. But even more fascinating than the choice of colors and the pattern is what this dress inspires: confidence, happiness and power. At least, that’s how I felt trying it on. The MARNI dress has ruffle trimmings throughout, completed by a crew-neck collar and comes with a triple press-stud placket and patch pockets at bust. I’ve found it on Ssense.com for $285.00 USD and I just had to buy it.
3. JIL SANDER
As a reminder of and a tribute to the Fall/Winter Collection we’ve also decided to choose the JIL SANDER Teal Velvet Slippers. For me, the last collections were a work of art as I am in love with gilt royal brocades and bejeweled embellishments. I felt that the baroque trend was somehow made especially for me and it will be a little hard to move on. But the JIL SANDER Slippers I chose are more of a transitional item. They keep one of the most appreciated colors of last season’s collections – the emerald – and also the velvet, a material synonymous with glamour and luxury. Beyond that, we’ll see nothing more than simplicity and a beautiful round shape. They also have black textile trimmings throughout and the sole is 100% leather. The JIL SANDER Teal Velvet Slippers are also available online for $172.00 USD.
