Brief History of New Balance Sneakers and Sneaker Fashion Trends about NB...

Mar 23, 2017 by

In 1906, William J. Riley, British emigrant, founded the New Balance Arch Support Company, manufacturing arch supports and other accessories designed to improve shoe fit in the Boston area. His first product, a flexible arch support, was designed with three support points to provide greater balance and comfort in the shoe. It is believed that Riley came up with the name “New Balance” by observing chickens in his yard and demonstrated the way his arch supports worked by keeping a chicken foot on his office desk. He explained to customers that the chicken’s three-pronged foot resulted in perfect balance. In 1927, Riley hired Arthur Hall to be a salesman. In 1934, Hall became a business partner and found his niche by marketing to people whose jobs required them to spend a lot of time...

Lanvin Leather Ballet Flats: Just Pick Your Color!...

Feb 22, 2013 by

One has to admit that most of the ballet flats in the market, although they seem to be extremely comfortable, they are actually not.   It happened to me more than once to buy a fantastic looking pair, only to hate it the next day; either the cut over the toes was making it impossible to wear it for a long period of time OR the material wasn’t so fantastic as I’ve previously imagined, rubbing the back of my foot or giving me a hell of an ache!   So you have to understand I’ve been looking for comfortable and fashion ballet flats for a while now, which makes me a little expert in the matter! I’ve tried on enormous amounts of designer flats but right now I am very enthusiastic for what...

Ready For Spring With The Best Of The Sales: Marni, Jil Sander and Hussein Chalayan...

Jan 25, 2013 by

After the opulence we’ve seen at the fall collections, apparently the fashion industry decided to look at spring from a totally different angle, rather than opting for a transition. This spring we’re going to see contrast, ruffles, power player suits and transparency measures. These themes have become the antidote of what we’ve witnessed in the Fall/Winter Collection. And what other way to prepare for this dramatic change than with a big sale where we can also find these themes? This is exactly why I’m going to show you the best of the sales so far that perfectly match these new trends. You’re going to see that the power suit comes also with transparent patterns, that ruffles come in many shapes and sizes and that the art of contrast was invented way before the Marc...

The Lanvin Black Scaled Leather Sneakers...

Jan 2, 2013 by

Since I started this blog, it seems I never posted an article about sneakers. This is a little bit odd, since I like them a lot and there are more and more designers that give attention to them. Sneakers can be extremely fashionable and trendy. And it seems obvious to accept they will never be outmoded. Lanvin, for example, succeeded in combining very well the concept of sportswear with leather. The Black Scaled Leather Sneakers are, in fact, quite a nice pair of shoes, perfect for a walk in the park.   I would even wear them for work, if I had this possibility. The Lanvin Sneakers are ankle-high with tonal pebbled leather cap toe and charcoal lace-up closure. The upper part is 100% and the sole is made of rubber. You can...

The Yves Saint Laurent Imperial Purple Tribute Suede Pumps...

Dec 29, 2012 by

Today I realized I just can’t get enough of the Yves Saint Laurent  shoes.    Except for a pair of Manolo’s or Jimmy Choo’s there’s no other brand I’d give up YSL to in terms of shoes.    These pumps I chose are like the Silver Shoes from Wizard of Oz: magical and capable of „transporting” me various distances.   They’re stylish, comfortable with a superb brogue style paneling throughout. An exquisite YSL pair of pumps in imperial purple.    I tried them on yesterday and these pumps look fantastic! They’re true to size and they feel really good when walking.    Even though they come with a stiletto heel, the front platform makes them truly easy to wear. To be more specific, your feet won’t hurt even after 8 hours standing....

The Giuseppe Zanotti Ash Gray Suede Platforms...

Dec 17, 2012 by

Everyone talks about them and every woman craves for them. I’m referring at the Giuseppe Zanotti platforms.  And although first time I saw the boots I was really skeptical, here I am today writing a positive review. To put it simply, I’ve never really thought one can walk in these GZ platforms. Not only they’re 15 cm high but they also have 600 grams! Most of my girlfriends have already tried them, some of them even decided to buy the boots and I was still 100% positive it will be an awful choice to make.  I mean, I liked the model, the suede; they looked nice in the store, on the models but I couldn’t stop wondering how on Earth one can walk with those shoes?! Well, I understood when I tried them on....
